
Jaipur/Udaipur: Rajasthan continues to make headlines in the administrative sector as the Dabi sisters shine at the National Water Conservation and Public Participation Awards held recently in Delhi. The prestigious event recognized outstanding contributions by administrative officers in promoting water conservation and community engagement.
Tina Dabi Shines Nationally
Renowned IAS Tina Dabi of Barmer brought laurels to Rajasthan with her innovative initiatives and active participation in water conservation programs. She was awarded the first-place National Jal Sanchay Jal Bhagidar Award by President Draupadi Murmu, receiving a prize of ₹2 crore for Barmer district’s exceptional work. Under her leadership, 79,055 water conservation tasks were successfully executed, highlighting her dedication and hands-on approach.
Riya Dabi Brings Honor to Udaipur
Following in her sister’s footsteps, IAS Riya Dabi, posted as CEO of Udaipur District Council, represented Udaipur city and secured the runner-up position, earning a prize of ₹1 crore. Alongside District Collector Namit Mehta, Riya Dabi oversaw 32,700 water conservation projects, earning national recognition for Udaipur in Category 2 of the awards.
President Murmu personally honored Riya Dabi for her significant contribution, emphasizing the crucial role of local administration in enhancing water conservation and community participation.
Rajasthan Excels in National Campaign
Rajasthan emerged as the third-best performing state nationwide in this campaign. Barmer and Banswara districts secured ₹2 crore awards each in the top category, while Udaipur and Jaipur excelled in the second category. The event highlighted district-level leadership, innovation, and citizen engagement as key drivers of successful water management projects.
